McHatton’s Water Out of Southern Maine handles loss
at local bank
Nancy Smoak of Water Out of Southern Maine in Bridgton sent in a great story
and pictures this week from a
project the McHattons had just completed. “Last week, the sump pump
broke at one of our local banks,
flooding a 3,000 s/f basement. There was an inch of standing water and walls
wicked up to 18”. Water Out
of Southern Maine was called in to handle the loss; which turned out to present
some interesting obstacles.
Being a bank, the building was pretty secure so getting the hoses into the
building was a chore. Once that
was taken care of though, the job went smoothly and three days later the bank
was dry with no loss of carpet,
padding or walls.”
Fantastic work, Nancy, the McHatton’s, and everyone at Water Out of
Southern Maine.

McHatton’s Water Out of Southern Maine Reports Successful
Drying Operations
"...three new floods reported in as many hours. Two broken pipes and
one furnace failure were the causes. We first dried out the new addition to
an occupied home. The dry out took just under 48 hours; saving the Berber
carpeting and padding, walls, and furniture from replacement.
On to structure number two, a townhouse condominium with a complete flooded
basement. After twenty-four hours of drying, it was determined to be less
expensive for the homeowner to remove the carpet and padding as the rest of
the basement was completely dry. The third flood was at a log home with broken
pipes on the third floor which flooded the entire house. Log walls, log ceilings
and hardwood floors were all at risk. The home dried in four days. Our phone
is still ringing and Water Out® trailer #2 is now in Maine.”
Great work Nancy, Bob Sr. and Bob Jr. We are looking forward to hearing about
your continued success!

“This whole-house flood was a couple of days old when we received
the call. Walls throughout covered with wallpaper were wet 12” to 24”
up and kitchen cabinets were wet with damaged kick-plates. The insurance adjuster
had called a general contractor to inspect walls and cabinets for removal
and they stated that these could be dried using refrigerant DH’s in
about 6 or 7 days. We dried in just over 3 days with Water Out®, saving
most walls and wallpaper and much of the cabinets, and leaving the home smelling
good!
The other completed project was “a home flooded by a toilet water supply
line failure. There wasn’t a dry corner to be found. We extracted water
and installed a Water Out® trailer, within 48 hours 99% of the home was
dry, only a few trouble spots remained. These were taken care of within the
next 12 hours of drying. We met the adjuster along with the home owner at
the 48 hour mark - both were very pleased with how the home smelled and how
quickly we
were drying.”
